We have designed this website to provide you with information about the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas. This site contains information about our faculty, facilities, students, programs, and the unique area that is Northwest Arkansas.

Our Department has undergone many changes in the past several years. New facilities and faculty offer our students unique learning experiences. Likewise, Northwest Arkansas has undergone amazing changes brought about by the growth of the University of Arkansas and such locally-headquartered corporations as Wal-Mart Corporation, Tyson Foods, Inc., and J.B. Hunt Transportation. Although the Northwest Arkansas metropolitan area population now exceeds 325,000, it retains its Ozark charm and natural beauty with hiking, camping, boating, fishing, and other outdoor activities readily available.

As our motto "Excellence One-on-One" indicates, our goal is to provide students with an outstanding learning experience. Students in our Department choose an individual mentor from our 13 faculty who are specialists in their respective fields. Students have the opportunity to take a wide range of classes, to conduct undergraduate research, to participate in national and international internships, and to become involved in our award-winning Horticulture and Turf Clubs.
