Graduate Studies

The Department offers a M.S. degree in Horticulture. This is a two-year thesis program in which the students learn how to conduct scientific studies and prepare research reports for scientific journals. The Ph.D. degree in Plant Science is administered jointly with the Department of Plant Pathology. The Ph.D. program takes three years and requires original research and development of new knowledge.

This section of our site includes information for graduate students. To the left are links where students will find information regarding admission, course offerings, Web-assisted teaching resources, and graduate fellowships. A link to the Graduate Student Handbook has also been provided. The Graduate Student Handbook provides detailed information regarding procedures and requirements for earning a graduate degree from the Department of Horticulture at the University of Arkansas. Potential graduate students should also visit the Research Programs section to learn more about some of the research activities being conducted in the Department.
