Teaching:
Responsible for developing and teaching courses related to controlled environments, greenhouse crop production and floriculture.
Major Accomplishments:
We have developed a nationally and internationally recognized program in edaphics of horticultural substrates. Our research had a major impact on the development of coconut coir into a major substrate component and we were the first to demonstrate the disease suppressive ability of coir.
Research:
Responsible for conducting research on edaphics of horticultural substrates. Research areas include alternative media components and amendments and control of Pythium and Phytophthora.
