Greenhouse and Nursery Growing Substrates
Teaching:
Responsible for developing and teaching courses related to controlled environments, greenhouse crop production and floriculture.
Major Accomplishments:
We have developed a nationally and internationally recognized program in greenhouse and nursery root substrates. Our research has assisted in the development of numerous substrate components for use by the greenhouse and nursery industries including coconut coir, PBH and Growstones. We have developed numerous analytical techniques used by the root substrates industry for evaluating, characterizing and improving root substrates.
Research:
Responsible for conducting research on greenhouse and nursery crop root substrates and substrate amendments.
