General areas of interest:

Interests include incorporating the latest research in urban horticulture and sustainable systems into practical landscape design and management.  Other areas of interest are provenance selection of native landscape material and non-native plants adapted for low input landscapes.

Teaching:

Course instruction assignments include: Landscape Installation and Construction, Landscape Management, Practical Landscape Planning, and a Landscape Laboratory.  Advising undergraduate and graduate students is a major component of teaching responsibilities.  Teaching appointment is 30%.

Research:

Research focuses on sustainable landscape design, installation, and management.  Other areas of research include water quality, irrigation recycling, and water conservation.
